It’s been called by many  different names, “knock out rose”, “rose knock out”,  “knockouts”, “knockouts roses”and roses knockout.  It is quite ironic that a flower known for its feminine characteristics of beauty and elegance would inherit a title which indirectly attributes them with  a masculine quality for being tough or strong, Knockout Rose.

But its name bears similar meaning to the masculine characteristic it emulates. The main purpose of breeding a Knockout Rose is to create a rose plant that is known for its hardiness.White Roses Knockout Variety Roses are known for their qualities of elegance and beauty, from which they are obviously being sold for the purpose of adding flare to garden themes. However, along with that same effeminate characteristic goes hand-in-hand with the flaw, for these little American Beauties are very fragile and vulnerable to destruction caused by diseases and other harmful elements of nature.

One day, an American botanist named Bill Radler sought to defy that biological fact. He succeeded by altering this American Beauty from a frail elegant creature to the same beautiful flower inhibiting a “knockout” virility that could be likened to any tough and hardy female human beings like Queen Elizabeth and Joan of Arc. The botanist Bill Radler was able to breed a kind of rose bush that is disease resistant, winter hardy and heat tolerant.

By these descriptions it would not have been possible to easily imagine a rose before the existence of the Roses – Knockout Variety.  Being disease resistant, winter hardy and heat tolerant describes more of a Bermuda grass, winter cherry and desert cactus combined. But indeed, a Roses Knock Variety  inherits these masculine qualities to an extent that they are actually living up to the title of being the toughest American Beauties of their perennial kind.

Double Knockout RoseThe roses knockout bushes grow about 3 to 5 feet tall and the same range of numbers also apply to the measure of their width. There are some varieties of them that are capable of resisting far more dangerous changes such as rust and mildew. The majority of them are bred to be immune from common rose diseases such as the black spot disease and also to some unfortunate occurrences such as the drought. There are seven types of roses knockout  bushes and these are the following namely; Knockout Rose, Double Knockout Rose, Pink Knockout Rose, Pink Double Knockout Rose, Blushing Knockout Rose, and Rainbow and Sunny Knockout Rose. All of these types of roses knockout bushes can thrive in almost every region in United States. In the simplest collective sense, they not only live up to their virile namesake, they also live up to their general layman’s term American Beauty knowing that everywhere the America you can find these plants  alive and vibrant.
